Update 1.0: We have implemented security measures for new entries and redacted International student names and encrypted back end data for the website. We believe the power is on our side and we can make a strong statement against ICE. Also we plan to explain the legality/context behind sharing emails and have an updated “addressing safety concerns” guide soon! (July 9, 2020)
Update 1.1: While the name of this platform is currently “Save our International Students” we’ve reflected on how that reinforces power dynamics between who is considered “national” and the violent language surrounding “saving”! We want to have language that reflects our values and will work to amend this!!! (July 9, 2020)
Update 1.2: We have updated our tagline to "Support Our International Students" to reflect our overall message! On desktop front end as of July 10 2:15 pm, all branding and text updated to "support vs save". Minor aesthetic adjustments including moving “additional resources link”. Updated contributors tab with recent info and grammar corrections. Website has been viewed ~6000 times so far. Thank you for your support and understanding! You all are the driving force of this initiative.
